I saw this book in my sister's room last night and asked her if I could borrow it for 21 days. Of course she said yes. I decided that I do want to be closer to Christ. I wanted to know how this book might help me do that. In the author's words:
"This is an invitation for you to take a journey to come to know and recognize more clearly the hand of the Lord in your life. Scattered throughout this book you will find treasures that can make the journey more meaningful to you. The celebration will come from the moments and experiences that bring you closer to Christ."
So if you would like to join me in this journey, come along. I will post the invitation and the journey every day. I hope you like it.
Day 1:
The Invitation Come
Read the account of the fishermen in Mark 1:16-18 and in John 1:38-39.
The Journey
Determine what fills your nets. Are everyday challenges such as time constraints, demands from work or home, or feelings of inadequacy or fear holding you back from developing a relationship with Christ?
Try to listen for the quiet invitation from the Lord to come and see.
I also just wanted to add my favorite scripture about coming unto Christ.
Moroni 10:32 "Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God."
